Eva Date:
2014-01-10
Time Slot:
earlyAM
Purpose:
Testing radio communications lines of sight and collecting helmet temperature data.
Narrative:
Howell, Komorowski, Diaz-Rubin and Crock departed the airlock at 09:47. Footing was good as we made our way to the first radio check-in. Communications between the Hab and the EVA team were possible during the first five check-ins, with lesser success for the following seven check-ins. The EVA crew made its way into a canyon. The crew turned back after 2.9 miles and took a shorter route back to the Hab. The EVA concluded after 5.2 miles at 12:49.
