Sol 8.

Today, we woke up at five with Mathieu to test the spectrometers on the Moon. Weather was cloudy, we were sad and went back to sleep. This morning we tried a music compilation on a CD we found in the Hab, an ancient crew leave here. Epic music breakfast time!

In the morning we started to make the inventory of the food. We put everything on the table, it was rather a mess. We had to find it in the order of the list given to us, and count it.

Few remains, maybe we would eat vegetarian the last days of our stay. It’s not annoying, but we would running out of starchy food, and this is more problematic!

It was easier for Arthur and me, who made the dinner, to choose what to do because we see all the options.

No eggs for Easter, maybe this evening… I nearly forgotten this event was today, the CapCom from yesterday remind it to us yesterday.

Time passes differently when you are on Mars.

This EVA began badly, someone of the crew wanted to dictate. I didn’t appreciate that and cut off my radio for a while. The calm of the desert was really soothing. In the Hab, we always hear every sound, and it’s tiresome. And I understood why my left ear hurts. The talkies made too much noises in the earpiece.

I tried to use a go pro today, it was fun. It could help me for the mid-sim video (which certainly will be ready later…) because it’s not easy to film with a reflex camera, I don’t see anything through the helmet, and the sunlight reflections don’t help.

Internet worked well, but we still played on the dinosaur game. The previous Belgian crew gave us a challenge to beat their score from last year! So we work on it…

“Do you wish me a good morning, or mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not; or that you feel good this morning; or that it is a morning to be good on?”
