EVA 149-2

2/12/2015

Paul Bakken

Personnel: Bakken (EVA lead), Nicoletatos, Gerardi

Purposes:

1. Initial scouting of area near Hab for geological resource survey project.

2. Test of aerial camera.

Departure time: 14:26

Return time: 16:40

Duration: 2 hours 14 minutes

Route: EVA crew 149-2 proceeded to the area immediately to the East of the Hab to test the aerial camera. Crew returned the test materials to the airlock, and then moved to the first waypoint of the geological survey. Crew followed the ridgeline along the circle route, counterclockwise, until reaching the second survey waypoint. Frequent stops for documentation along the way used up a lot of time, so after reaching the SE waypoint of the circle route, crew moved back to the Hab.

Waypoints:

1. Depart from Hab. Tested aerial camera in immediate vicinity.

2. En route to UTM 12S 518250E 4249255N. Multiple samples and documentation of sites for more detailed investigation on future EVAS.

3. En route to UTM 12S 519065E 4249540N. Multiple samples and documentation of sites for more detailed investigation on future EVAS.

4. Proceeded to and re-entered Hab.

Successful EVA. As anticipated, crew did not cover the entire circle route, but did identify multiple sites for more detailed investigation of potentially exploitable construction grade materials.
