119-CommandersReport

Commander Dale, signing on for MDRS expedition 134.

The formation of this elite and international team of scientists and engineers was a year-long process. More than two dozen projects, with a similar number of interested parties, are being conducted during the two-week stay at the Mars Desert Research Station.

Even with the constraints of time-zones over three lateral continents, the crew have been in regular tele-meeting communications for the past few months, pre-expedition. The organisation of such a busy excursion was intense. If anything, it is a major relief for the entire crew to finally be here – knowing exactly what we have, what we need to do, and how much time we need to do it in.

The crew are jelling well. Everyone unique characters are shining through. This will be an inspiring, productive, and demanding experience.
