SOL 12

Journalist Report

Crew Journalist Adeniyi Adebayo

SOL 12 started as usual with team debrief. Commander Dee outlined activities for the last two days of our rotation on Mars. All crew members planned to round off their research projects as the crew looks forward to welcoming the new crew of Martian explorers. An EVA team went out to test the robot for scooping capabilities. Working on a difficult terrain like Mars requires extreme care and caution. But even the best of preparation still poses inherent risks. One of the crew members had an ATV accident on one of the turns around the Wash area.

The afternoon, was devoted to soil analysis and dealing with the health issue. In the evening, we all sat to have dinner. Over dinner, we reviewed roles of all crew members in the mission and planned our last 2 days on the Red Planet.
