CREW 142 WILL NEVER GO AWAY…
It’s time to go, as somebody could say. Oh no, it’s not. This day will not be the last for us, and not because we will spend another day tomorrow out of sim with crew 143, but because crew 142 has become a family. Nobody angry, nobody shout, we all help each other. And this is what I was looking for since my aunt died 8 years ago. No complaints in these days, one goal, be truthful to each other. We did it. We had the time for performing the last EVA today, trying the last experiments with the SPOK Solar Cooker, watering radishes and chards, observing the cyanobacteria, getting samplings, flying the drone, using the ATV and performing an in sim drill…Yes, because this time I made my own. Just few minutes ago, I wisely left a radio close to the stairs, brought one on my own in the GreenHab and in presence of Vincent started my drill, in which I was pretending some shakings and cold, not impossible as yesterday pictures could witness.
Anyway, the crew aided me so warmly that in a short time I felt warmer too. Magnificent!! Thanks…
These two weeks have been the best I could have ever imagined, no regrets.
Morale is at the top here, and we have never stopped working, neither today. It’s quite tricky to find the words to explain the feelings and emotions we had during the last day on Mars, but planting feet to Earth soil again will not be so ease. Last time I felt this way was at the “Passatore Ultramarathon” finish line and that white stripe represented the conclusion of my pains and likewise the start of my misery as the race was ended up.
I don’t know what the life will reserve to us, but I’m pretty sure I will miss everyone crewmember (and I don’t want to forget Kimmo, which I’m sorry I have never known). Each EVA, each laugh, each moment of hard work, each emotion and every picture shared, I will never forget and they will remain part of my life as I did since my first cry 28 years and 122 days ago…
I don’t want to spend more words than those written above and in the previous reports, so today my report finish here and is dedicated to our crew because apart from FMARS we have already won our final...
