Purpose:

The second excursion to the east valley to collect GPS data and to research the interesting landscape of the valley.

Narrative:

This final EVA mission to the east valley went well on schedule. The crew exited the base at 10:05. Since the route we took was the same as the one we chose on the EVA #5 on Mar 10, all the member were used to driving on the route and ATV approach went very smoothly. When we arrived at the point where we left the ATVs, we investigated the surrounding landscape and found the starting point of the valley. The valley was magnificent. The deep cutting edge of the Martian surface showed us a dynamic activity of Mars. After the investigation, we arrived at the final point, where the radio was unable to reach the base as usual during ATV excursion. For the next exploration, I think there is a room for improvement of communication method.
