Purpose:
Collect of soil samples in the bed of an old river. The aim was to
detect bacteria in various types of soils (for biology experiment).
Narrative:
When we left the station, the weather was perfect for an EVA. We took
the ATV and went to the old river bed (about 5 miles at the north: 1st
point). We collected 5 samples during 20 minutes following the river
to the east. Then we took back the ATV's and we went to another point
located yesterday (2nd point). At this moment, a strong wind got up
and we decided to return to the MDRS for safety. On the way back, the
wind was so strong that the space helmet of Florian was blown off and
stroke the ATV's wheel. The Helmet is broken but nobody was harmed. We
are thinking about a better way to fix the space helmets on the ATV's.

Purpose:
The goal of this EVA was to calibrate our susceptibilimeter and to take a few measurements to test if it worked properly.
Narrative:
Auriane and I went out at 4:00 PM as planed but we came back a bit earlier - around 4:20PM - because of the wind. We managed to carry out the calibration properly despite of the wind but in the end the wind tore out a page of the instrument's manual and we didn't manage to catch it. Then we took a few measurements using steps as an arbitrary distance measurement since it was to windy to use our meter. Then we headed back to the hab.
