DAILY SUMMARY REPORT

29 April 2016- Sol 5

Today included Lectures, leftovers for Lunch , daily PT and an EVA.

Mission Status: Today we had am lectures on space medical issues . We did an EVA and completed all objectives. We are currently on track in all aspects of our mission. Our generator has functioned well in past 24 h without repair.

Sol Activity Summary:

1. We finished our day last evening with a chicken pasta dinner

2. We had 3 excellent lectures this am on the aerospace medical topics of behavioural and mental health issues.

3. We had leftovers from yesterday’s meals for lunch.

4. In the afternoon we did an EVA and completed our 3 objectives.

5. We completed our 4th daily PT session but achieved level 5 on our 4th SOL.

Look ahead Plan:

1. Tomorrow’s plan is for ongoing lectures in space medicine, contingency planning for space medical emergencies, and greeting the incoming Crew 169 PERU 4.

Anomalies in work: Ongoing issues with the 3d printer, unresolved despite using all local and on line resources available .

This has been unusable during this mission.

Weather Temp 58 deg F, wind O kn, humidity 56%

Crew Physical status; 8 crew members all without any problem at this time.

EVA:

Objectives:

1. Return to Martian Graveyard

2. Take samples of Martian Tombstones

3. Place the epitaphs for the recently passed

EVA Simulated Event:

During this EVA we had two simulated medical cases:

1. The first simulated problem was a suit issues with the crew member becoming hypothermic. The crew member was successfully treated.

2. The second simulated problem was that of a crew member was feeling unwell and becoming unresponsive. Despite rapid evacuation and correctly using all of the medical resources available to us, our crew member passed away.
