Astronomy Report

Arthur Lillo

Sky Conditions:

Clear

Wind Conditions:

Calm

Observation Start Time:

21h

Observation End Time:

22h30

Summary:

We went to the observatory before the moonrise. Thus, we enjoyed a

beautiful night full of stars, with the Milky Way clearly visible.

Despite all our efforts with the three eyepieces and the robofocus, we

could not obtain a precise image through the main telescope. However,

the auxiliary scopes gave us full satisfaction: two orange stripes on

Jupiter and the Orion Nebula were visible.

Objects viewed:

Orion Nebula, Jupiter and its satellites, Pleiades, Sirius, Aldebaran

Problems encountered:

Whatever the position of the robofocus, we could not see a precise dot

when aiming at a star. Instead, the most precise shape that we

obtained was two crossed parabols.
