EVA #4 Summary Report
EVA Date: 14th Jan 2016
Crew Engineer Reporting
Purpose: To do the physical analysis of the regolith where we want to test our robotic arm and test radio communication links
Location: 12S-519100E-4251800N
Number of EVA Crew: 3
Crew Members on EVA: Divya Shankar, Mikhail Khmelik,Veronika Shteyngardt
ATVs:
- ATV 1 Used: Yes

- ATV 4 Used: Yes
ATV time usage: 1.00 Hours
Duration of EVA: 1 hour 44 min
EVA departure time: 12.00pm
EVA return time: 1.44pm
Time Checks:
- 12.06pm - ATV start
- 12.13pm - Lost communication with HAB
- 12.28pm - Connection reestablished
- 13.00pm - Found soil for robotic arm
- 13.20pm - Heading back to the HAB
- 1.44pm - Entered HAB
Coordinate Checks:
- 12S-518905-4250977 - Comm lost
- 12S-519078-4251590 - Comm reestablished
- 12S-518736-4254881 - Photo taken
- 12S-518206-4203574 - Soil for the robotic arm
- 12S-518171-4255412 - Returning to the HAB
Summary: radio works only on flat surfaces. Any obstacle interrupts the signal. Distance is not the problem. Future EVAs will be adjusted for work without communication with the HAB. Found soil for robotic arm project. Location: dried river that crosses the road on the North. Will test the robot after it will be assembled. Crew is more confident with using ATVs. Possible to extend EVA distance.
