Chill day at the hab. But not so relaxing.
No crew members went out for an EVA today.
But each of us had tasks piled up.
I spent literally all day trying to sort out millions of photos and videos I had taken in the past two days on Mars. You want me to count them all? Sure, I have 853 photos and 561 video files. But please do not worry. I will not spam your email with all of those; usually I end up with about 3% of everything I have on my card. You can do the math!
While I was busy fiddling with my Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro, other crew members were busy fixing the water issues, cooking, conducting research etc. Sometimes I feel like I should get out of the 2D world of my computer and help out more in the real world. But then again, I’m a journalist, and I just can’t stop staring at the magic moments I captured with my lens.
I’ve begun thinking about our mid-rotation video. The sheer scale of the Martian landscape is a little intimidating. Somehow I would need to focus on one or two aspects of our mission and communicate it through cinematography, either explicitly or implicitly, or both.
