DAILY SUMMARY REPORT

Today included Lectures, Corn Chowder for Lunch and,,EVA Exercise
Mission Status: Today we had am lectures on space medical issues , followed by an afternoon EVA where we completed our 5 primary objectives and 1 out of 3 of our secondary objectives. We are currently on track in all aspects of our mission. Our generator has functioned well in past 24 h without repair.
Sol Activity Summary:
1. We finished our day last evening with a wonderful chilli dinner and our
2. second bookclub discussion afte reading a portion of a space related book.
3. We had 2 excellent lectures this am on the aviation medical topics of visual issues and radiation exposure ,
4. We had an excellent corn chowder for lunch
5. We successfully completed seven tasks during a practice EVA mission
6. On our return to the HAB we were warned of a Solar Particle Event for which we prepared to hunker down in the most appropriate area of the HAB and stocked up with the necessary supplies.
Look ahead Plan:
1. Our patient with simulated decompression illness is now completely asymptomatic and requires no further monitoring
2. Tomorrow’s plan is for ongoing lectures in space medicine, contingency planning for space medical emergencies, and simulation during EVA, pending authorisation of EVA for tomorrow.

Weather 50deg F winds gusting to 5 nautical mph, sunny am with afternoon rain intermittent with cloud
Crew Physical status; 8 crew members all without any problem at this time.
EVA:
1.OBJECTIVES
a. successfully establish satellite com relay on Tim’s Peak
b. successfully took soil and air samples from Tim’s Peak
c. marked our communication range to the S
d. took soil samples from Mars mound to the south
e. marked location Between a Rock and a Hard Place
f. took soil sample, soil PH and soil temp at Between a Mark and a Hard place
g. explored the ridgeline
h. unable to establish effective communication from the road ridge
i. unable to get the picture of the roof of the HAB
2. EVA Simulated Medical Event
There was a simulated injured team member on Tim’s Peak during the EVA which involved a successful evacuation within a 30 min time frame.
a. one crew member with an initial simulated medical issue which lasted from start to finished and which was managed appropriately
b. one crew member developed an issue which was aggravated during the mission but mission completed.
c. All simulated medical issues resolved
