Eva Number:
2
Eva Date:
April 3, 2014
Time Slot:
earlyAM
Purpose:
Our primary of this EVA was two-fold: 1. Allow Michael the opportunity to test his quad-copter video feed in a variety of environments, and, 2. Locate water samples in Pinto Canyon for sampling back at the lab.
Narrative:
Things went very well! Michael was able to test his quad-copter in an open canyon, series of hills, closed short-canyons, and taller straight canyons. We are looking forward to editing his video. We spent most of time driving the ATVs (we went slowly since we were unfamiliar with the roads). Once we arrived at Pinto, we hiked down, gathered our water samples, and even found some awesome gypsum to survey! It was fantastic!
(We had to run the EVA backwards, to make sure we made it to the furthest sites before the end of our allotted time).
