Commander Report Crew 167B:

Karen Rucker

Sol 4

Earth date: 04/12/16

Today the crew was treated to an eclectic musical playlist, courtesy of Jaxom, during a simple breakfast of cereal and granola. The crew spent the early morning hours cleaning and getting ready for the arrival of the crew from the San Francisco Film Society. After the crew, consisting of Neil and Joe, arrived and brief introductions were made, the film crew followed Otsmar, Beechner and Victoria on their geology EVA to Cow Patty Field. The purpose of the EVA was to examine sandstone and find strike and dip with a Brunton compass.

During the morning EVA, the crew remaining in the hab worked on individual projects. Everyone came together for lunch and enjoyed pasta with meaty tomato sauce and cheddar garlic biscuits. Neil and Joe seemed pleasantly surprised by the normalcy and taste of the meal. The afternoon was spent on individual research and interacting with the film crew. Neil and Joe left around 18:00, after which the crew finished up reports while Victoria prepared deep dish pizza and green beans for dinner.

Tomorrow, pending approval, will consist of a morning chemistry EVA with Otsmar, Drew, and Jaxom, and a local EVA in the afternoon around the hab for Beechner and Jaxom’s project.
